Red is a 1999, 15.3 hand, bay Thoroughbred, gelding. The ILEHC rescued Red from a kill buyer in December 2015. Red was on his way to slaughter in Mexico when the ILEHC was able to secure his last minute rescue along with that of his buddy, a senior Thoroughbred mare, named Around Marry Lou (who is available for foster or sponsor). Red is a very good looking boy, who is quiet and has a super nice way of going. Red is now in good health and appears to be sound for any riding discipline. Red is currently available for adoption, $500. |
Zingy is a 1995, dark bay, 16 hand, Thoroughbred mare. Zingy retired from racing in 2001 having earned over $23k in 38 starts. Zingy came to the ILEHC as part of a herd of horses relinquished by their owner who was no longer able to adequately care or feed horses. Zingy was extremely malnourished and underweight at that time, however, in just a few short months, she has been completely restored to excellent weight and health. Zingy does have a breathing issue that would prohibit her from being ridden, however, she is a very sweet mare who gets along well with other horses and would make an excellent companion horse for that special person who is interested in providing a forever home to a special horse very much in need of someone to just simply care for her and love her! Adoption fee is $500.

Thank you Jo Ann Spitzer for helping with Pee Wee's monthly expenses. |
