ILEHC announces first annual benefit dinner and auction
The ILEHC is pleased to announce our First Annual Benefit Dinner and Auction - Second Chances! All proceeds from this event will benefit the horses in our care and those waiting to come in.
Please mark your calendar and plan to join us on October 30, 2010 for a memorable evening that will include spectacular live and silent auction items, 50/50 cash raffle, a fabulous dinner, and a terrific opportunity for you to help the ILEHC help our equine friends in need!

ILEHC 2010 FUNDRAISING CHALLENGE
Put the Power of Your Imagination to Work for the Horses!
Fundraising must be a year round effort with any non-profit organization. One or two large events will pay the majority of the bills but without continuous cash flow, some of the horses needs may not be met. They need our help!
We are asking you, our wonderful members and supporters to think “outside the box” and come up with ways to raise money for our equine guests. The ideas are limitless and no amount of money raised is too small. This can be a family project where even the smallest member can contribute, a Girl or Boy Scout troop, 4-H project, or a school challenge. Put your talents, passion, and imagination to work for the horses!

ILEHC at Illinois Derby Day
On Saturday April 3, Hawthorne Race Course will host the $500,000 Grade III Illinois Derby. Some of the horses running that day may go on to the Kentucky Derby four weeks later.
Zenyatta
The ILEHC will be on hand with our educational booth, so please make plans to join us! A large part of the ILEHC's mission is to serve as a safety net for Illinois racehorses whose careers at the track have ended and to ensure that retiring racehorses are given the proper care, rehabilitation, and retraining needed for their eventual placement into loving new homes and vocations. In fact, the ILEHC currently has several wonderful ex-racehorses who are available for adoption, so please be sure to check them out on our adopt a horse page.
We will also have equine welfare and adoption information on hand at the booth and we'll be offering a free ILEHC T-shirt with your paid membership. An autographed Fred Stone print of Zenyatta will be featured.
The open edition print on fine art paper is 16" x 20" and double matted in a dark wood frame. Total framed size is 22" x 28".
Wine Glasses
We will also be featuring a set of 6 hand-painted racing themed wineglasses.
