With the help of the ILEHC, two very wonderful horses have found new homes just in time for Christmas! More
Because of the incredible support of ILEHC members, supporters, and horse lovers throughout the country, we were able to save several Thoroughbred horses at the STC Racing Dispersal Auction in Mount Vernon, IL. Offered for sale were 65 horses ranging in age from foals to aged broodmares and stallions. Many of the horses who were perfectly healthy, sound, and useful, were sold for just peanuts. More
The highlight of the day was when the 13-year-old Illinois-bred Esther Egg took to the racetrack to make his final pass before the Hawthorne grandstand during an official retirement ceremony held to honor the gelding’s outstanding accomplishments. More
